Uganda drawn with Madagascar in 2015 AFCON qualifiers

Uganda will travel to Madagascar first in three weeks time before facing off in the Kampala return leg, but the Cranes’ will find an even harder task should they negotiate it past the aforementioned and winners between Mauritania and Equatorial Guinea. Micho Sredojevic’s side, seeded in Port A in level one teams at the draw, will find themselves in Group E that includes four-time African champions Ghana, Togo, and Guinea as they bid to qualify for the 2015 Orange Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The draw was conducted at the Confederations of African Football (Caf) headquarters in Cairo, Egypt on Sunday.

Uganda face Madagascar away on May16-18, where they will hope to post a result positive heading into the return on May 30- June 1.

Should they progress, the Cranes will face winner between Mauritania and Equatorial Guinea in the third round on July 18-20 and August 1-3, with victors securing a place in the group stage, where Ghana, Togo and Guinea lay in wait.

Uganda last qualified for the Nations Cup in 1978, where they were losing finalists to hosts Ghana.
