Adele Album Sales: '21' Passes 9 Million Mark In The U.S.

Adele can't be stopped.

The soulful singer's chart-topping sophomore album 21 has now sold over 9 million copies in the States. Adding to Adele's long list of accomplishments, 21 will reach rare RIAA diamond sales status once it passes the extremely rare 10 million mark.

In April, the British songstress recently revealed that she will release a new song this year, 2012.

SINGER Bebe Cool has said Bobi Wine is all talk and no action. Bebe is responding to Bobi’s statement last week, in which Bobi promised to use lyrical power to punch Bebe to tears at their forthcoming concert Battle of the Champions, slated for next Friday at Kyadondo Rugby grounds.

Adele, Rihanna, Lil Wayne Lead 2012 Billboard Music Awards Finalists

Speaking of Rihanna, the pop superstar is a finalist in 13 categories this year, after leading the pack with 18 category appearances in 2011. Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne each snagged a spot in 10 categories, and will both compete against Adele, Rihanna and Katy Perry for the prestigious Top Artist prize. And the Top New Artist category features a diverse collection of fresh talent, with Bad Meets Evil, Big Sean, Foster The People, Scotty McCreery and Wiz Khalifa serving as the 2012 finalists.

Soul singer Michael Kiwanuka has come top of the BBC Sound of 2012 list, which aims to showcase the best rising music stars for the year ahead.

Michael Kiwanuka is a British soul musician of Ugandan heritage who is signed to Communion Records. He has been compared to Bill Withers and Otis Redding, as well as Van Morrison and the Temptations. His parents are from Uganda. On 6 January 2012, the BBC announced that he had won the BBC's Sound of 2012 poll.

Navio records Collabos with Mr Flavor and MadTraxx

Most Nominated artiste in the Channel O music Video Awards Daniel Lubwama Kigozi Alias Navio is to release a new track Kenyan artistes.

The song which was recorded in Nairobi while on his East African Tour with Mr Flavor is titled "All the way to the bank" Featuring Madtraxx and ZUES. While On the same tour, Navio managed to do a collaboration with the 'Ashawo star' Mr Flavor which is slated to be released towards the end of this year.

Vampino and Mr Flavor (Ashawo) to record duet

Ashawo star, Mr Flavor is to enter recording booth with dancehall artiste Elvis Kirya aka Vampino and make a duet with the Ugandan artiste. They will work on the collaborative project at Fenon records during Mr Flavor's stay in Uganda for the "Sean Kingston Concert" where he will curtain raise for the Jamaican artiste with other artistes like La'myia Good, AY, Navio

Atlas to release a mixtape album with Akon's DJ Benny D

Ugandan hip-hop artiste Eddie Atlas who is currently promoting his new music video “I’m doing me’ across the African continent, is doing a mix tape album "MAKE MUSIC NOT WAR" with Akon’s DJ Benny D. This will be his second music project with Akon’s Konvict music after the release of “One step way” a song he did with UK rapper Sway, Navio, Blu3 and DJ Benny D.

Atlas, who is soon dropping a duet with Luga-flow artiste Rocky Giant, is also having a music project with American rapper Black rob famously known for his hit single "Whoa!".

Mackenzie selected as a judge for 2011 Channel O Awards

Uganda’s Radio City DJ, Bryan Mackenzie, the former Hot 100 DJ and music director, has been selected as a judge for the 2011 Channel O Music Video Awards in which two Ugandan musicians Navio and Keko were nominated.
Mackenzie, together with other renowned DJs selected from the African continent who not only play the music, but also a presenter of a local music show ‘Jam Agenda’  on WBS TV, will be involved in this year's nominees' selection process. Mackenzie beat DJ Apeman and Bush Baby to take the slot.

Davis to perform alongside American rapper EVE, Shaggy and Cobo Snoop in October

The winners of the Tusker All Stars reality television show that aims at nurturing and promoting local music talent in East Africa, will be jamming the stage with the three international stars to officially mark the end of the show. The winners of the concluded show were Alpha, Davis and Msechu.

2011 Tusker Project edition featured eight most popular and astounding contestants from the past tusker project four seasons.

Juliana and Keko win EMAs (East Africa Music Awards)

Fidempa releases a duet with Demarco

Uganda based Kenyan artiste Ragga/Reggae artiste Jerome Mittau Peterson also known as Fidempa has released a hot new duet with Jamaican Ragga sensation Dermaco (real names Collin Edwards) who is famously known for his hit singles Fallen soldiers, 'True Friend', 'Show it' and 'I love my life'.

The Dancehall duet is titled 'Some say' off Fidempa's new album which features songs like Give it to me, Unasemaje, Wind it up, Blazing among others.

Self proclaimed Doctor Jose Chameleone is set to hold a concert on the same day with Soul Sensation Maurice Kirya. Chameleone who is rumored to have Jamaica's Beanie man as guest artiste is to hold his concert titled 'Mukisa gwo Album Launch' at Hotel Africana on 2nd September, 2011 and Maurice Kirya is also set for his Maurice live in Kampala at Kampala Serena hotel on the same date.

Charlie King Releases song with Tickie Tah

Sweden based Ugandan musician Charlie King has released a new soft touching song with Ragga star Tickie tah. The song which is titled "If you are here with me" was recorded on a reggae track at Steve Jean's Fenon Studios located in Industrial area Kampala.

Chameleone to perform at the 2012 Olympic games in London

Jose Chameleone is set to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He has been booked for this through the South-Africa based AS Entertainment. The latter company booked Jose Chameleone to perform at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
