Ugandan musicians Juliana & Chameleone nominated for BAFFTA Awards

Juliana and Chameleone might be missing at the prestigious 2012 Channel O Music Video Awards where Navio, Maurice Kirya, Toniks and Keko will be representing Uganda but there is still hope in the entertainment industry as East Africa's and Uganda's top musicians Princess Juliana and Jose Chameleone received nodes at this year’s Black Entertainment Film, Fashion, Television and Arts (BEFFTA) UK awards nominations.

Juliana and Chameleone become the first Ugandans to be nominated for the BEFFTA in the best international Afro-beat act category.

The Ugandan stars will be competing with Africa's big name artistes like Fally Ipupa from Congo, Kenya's Nameless, rapper Sarkodie from Ghana and Nigerian singer DBanj.

Other nominees in the Best International Afrobeat Act include: Wizkid, Wande Coal, Zahara, Inyanya, Ice Prince, Nonini and Itz Tiffany.
